Web Design with a Twist of Lime

Method

Our experience at Your Plan B has given us a reliable methodology for developing Web sites and design projects.

The "B" plan outlines the five key steps of every project and the milestones contained in each. This approach sets parameters for identifying individual needs and allows us to consistently deliver custom solutions on time and on budget.

brainstorm

BRAINSTORM

We start every project by listening to our clients. We gather relevant information and explore the possibilities, asking questions about your audience, your objectives, and working through potential outcomes. From this blue-sky approach we introduce real-world challenges like time, budget and staffing.

This first Brainstorming phase sets the scope and objectives of the project.

blueprint

BLUEPRINT

A detailed blueprint provides these ideas with shape and direction. In this phase, we look at the project within the context of your organization. If we are building upon materials that have already been produced, we study the language, the look, and the identity that have been established to ensure consistency. We lean more about your audiences so we can help your site meet their particular needs and expectations. We talk to stakeholders who will supply content for the site. Then we can organize the site into its logical components, outlining and flowcharting navigational structures and working out crucial site elements.

The blueprint allows us to assign tasks and set roles for the following phases.

build it

BUILD IT

Production begins in phase three as we craft the final message, develop high quality, custom graphics, lay out the design, and write and edit text if needed. Along the way, we develop three phases of mock-ups, an alpha, beta and final, giving you the chance to demo the site and make any changes along the way. When agreements have been made on the third and final draft, we run quality assurance and handle testing to ensure that the site is accessible across platforms, browsers and systems.

Build It concludes when the design and development has been completed and accepted by the client.

blast off

BLAST OFF

Blast Off begins when we launch the site onto the Web - an exciting time for everyone! Not only have we tested the site to make sure it works on the desirable browsers, set up the Meta Tags in the code we now submit the site to search engines. We supply you with a CD of the current version of your site for archiving, a comprehensive site map and flowchart, as well as any notes needed to keep the site up and running.

Blast Off connects the finished design to the project's original goals.
